• Discovery production features include relevancy and privilege tagging, automatic Bates numbering and automatic privilege log generation.

Case Analytics Features

Case Analytics represents a systematic approach to organizing and analyzing information in a case. This information comes from interviews with clients, pleadings, discovery, depositions and many other sources. With Case analytics, the litigation team extracts facts (disputed and undisputed) and organizes these facts around case issues, case participants (parties, witnesses and other material persons) and research. You can skip to particular features on the left, or see our guide on how to get things done in Lexbe.

Facts, Issues & Timeline.  Lexbe's Facts, Issues and Timelines window allow you to create facts, issues and dynamic timelines particular to your case. A timeline or chronology of key facts is critical to the optimal analysis of a dispute.  As a timeline emerges, material factual disputes and case strengths and weaknesses become apparent.  Facts can be grouped to one or more issues.   Issues can be tied to anticipated jury instructions, so that you can organize evidence around what you will need to prove at trial.  (Access from top menu bar: Analytics>Facts & Issues)

Case issues including both legal claims and potentially factual disputes. If the case has been filed, issues can be extracted from the pleadings.  If the case has not yet been filed, you can list anticipated claims and counter-claims.  Each issue can also include a detailed description, such as each party’s position on the issue.  

Each issue can support an unlimited number of facts.  Facts are linked to documents (including depositions) that provide the basis for the underlying facts.  That way the support for a fact is only a click away.  Facts are also linked with case participants (parties, witnesses and other persons material to the dispute).   Best of all, facts are displayed in a timeline view, so you can get a visual grasp of what happened, when. . . and to whom. 

Facts can also be added directly from documents. Facts added this way are also added automatically to the dynamic timelines. For example, you can add a deposition to Lexbe and copy and paste facts established in the deposition into the fact entry form. These facts will automatically become part of your timelines.  Much better than deposition summaries!

Case Participants. Case Participants are the litigants, deponents, witnesses, and other individuals and organizations in the case that provide factual information. Keeping track of the relationships between and among this 'cast of characters' can be challenging. Lexbe Online allows you to capture each participant's name, relation to other participants and a description of the role the participant plays in your case. Lexbe makes this easy with the Case Participant view.  (Access from top menu bar: Analytics>Case Participants)

Tracking Case Participants by itself is helpful, but Lexbe goes much further by tying case participants to facts. This powerful facility allows you to determine what a particular witness may say based on the documents, depositions and other information in the record or discovery. Associating Case Participants with Facts allows your to better prepare for witness interviews, depositions and examinations.

Case Legal Research. Our research module allows you to identify your legal research (e.g., applicable cases, statutes, articles) and include summaries and full text (copy and paste). This research is linked to your issues within Lexbe. This is helpful in preparing summary judgment motions, briefs and analyzing the strength of various issues.
