Discovery Production Features

Lexbe includes functionality to enable you to identify documents as  responsive for production, identify documents subject to attorney-client privilege and attorney work product privilege, Bates stamp and number documents in PDF and native file formats, prepare privilege logs, produce documents and copy onto a production CD.

Contacts Discovery Tagging.   The discovery tab in the document view allows you to prepare documents for a discovery production and displayed within Lexbe.com in the display in the discovery production window. You can mark a document as responsive to a discovery request, subject to attorney client privilege or attorney work product, and confidential as may be contemplated under a litigation confidentiality, non-disclosure or 'attorneys' eyes only' agreement. Information tagged as part of a document review is used to generate documents for Bates stamping and privilege log generation.

The search document window displays documents and are ranked according to how often and how prominently your search terms appear in the text. At the top of the search results page, you'll see how many total documents your search found. For example, you may see "Documents found: 10" as in the example below. The results also indicate other important information , such as the document date, Bates number, if a key document, if notes are attached and if it has been reviewed previously.   (Access from top menu: Search)

Lexbe.com also enables you to easily gather information necessary for privilege log generation, including document author(s), document recipient(s), subject matter, document Type (e.g., email, memo, letter). This information will display in the privilege log if the document is marked as relevant and attorney-client privileged or subject to work product. Users can also use free-form fields that you can use for internal purposes to indicate notes about the reason that a document is on the privilege log.

Bates Stamping.  Once documents have been marked as responsive, and attorney-client privileged or work product if indicated, Lexbe enables you to prepare a production set and Bates number the documents. Lexbe's Bates numbering utility allows Bates numbering both at the page level for PDF documents and at the file name level for native file documents. Designations of confidential and 'attorneys' eyes only' are also included in the Bates stamp as appropriate.

Privilege Log.  Lexbe automatically generates a privilege log of documents that have been marked Contactsas responsive and attorney-client privileged or attorney-work product.  Information for the privilege log can be edited and when finalized, downloaded to Word, Word Perfect and Excel formats.

Discovery Production.   Once you have determined the documents to be included in the production set and assigned the Bates Stamp, you can create the Production CD with a document set to be produced.   Lexbe also enables you to print a log of the production set, including the documents produced and  their Bates numbers.
